can i turn my radial arm saw into a disk sander

Craftsman used to make a "blade" for sanding that worked beautifuly to edge materials. The thickness wasn't uniform; it tapered, getting thinner at the edge- about a 2 degree bevel. You would tilt the blade 2 degrees so that the sanding face was vertical directly in line with the shaft, and that would mean that you could pass a board between the blade and fence and get it edge-sanded, with all the lines straight instead of arcing. Great little device, but don't know if it's still made. Ask the Sears tool department!

There was a disc that goes on in place of the blade

This work Ok as an edge sander but not a surface sander

It's a saw , so is not reversible. I would bet the switch is a double pole on/off one. You will have to trace the wires back & find which are the main power wires & the motor wires. The yellow button is either a safety trigger or locking lever.

You can turn it into a wide belt sander. Go to woodcraft.com and they have informaton on the kit to do it.
