I'm renting a 30-year-old house without a ground wire for the outlet. My new dryer has a ground wire, but I can't hook a 4-prong outlet into the wall, so the 3-prong cord I need to use has nothing to put with the dryer's ground wire.

I was told that it can be done over a subfloor. I was also told that the subfloor should be made up of 6 mil plastic first, then plywood nailed into the concrete, then felt paper, then hardwood. Is this the proper method?

I found a really nice wallpaper that I want to use when I redecorate but I've never used wallpaper before.
How do I do it, what other things will I need and how hard is it?
Would it be better to get a decorator in to do it for me? If so, how much would it cost?

Boiler Type (Potterton Puma 100e)
Can anyone help im getting hot water as normal, but no heating, checked pressure and its showing 1.5bar as normal. When switched on to constant on the heating pilot fires and she lights for approx 10 seconds then stops, couple of mins late she fire's again for 10secs or so and thats all im getting. I cant hear the pump running. So my question is does the hot water out of the tap use the pump or is it a direct flow, and is the pump fused on the board somewhere. Im a tech service enginner so quite compitant with meter and tools, but what to check before i call in the corgi boys.

Cheers in advance

I am puchasing a new miter saw, and was curious as to which is a better buy. The Rigid has a much better warranty but does that mean it is more likely to break? The price is close although the DeWalt is a little more expensive. Which do I buy and why?

We are about to lay our laminate flooring and we are still undecided about what to use as our base - the roll out metallic foam or the fibre boards which you lay over a waterproof membrane? Any suggestions? For hall, living room and dining room. Thanks!

I have a small fluorescent shop light for over my Toucan's cage that is all metal, glossy white finish. I want to paint it--probably black, preferably matte, and was planning on using something like Rustoleum spray paint...

Is this a good idea? Will it hold over the glossy factory paint? Would it be better to forgo the matte and go glossy over glossy? It's important that it last and look good as it will be in my home...

my hot water tank leaks from the copper pipe along the side of it, i think its called a pressure relief pipe. it leaks all the time. YES, IVE REPLACED THE PRESSURE VALVE , AND IT DIDNT HELP. The tank is only 3 years old, and i replaced it since i was only allowed one shower before it got cold. by the way, the other water tank didnt leak out of the copper pipe, and this one does. I still only have 10 minutes of hot water with a 40 gallon tank! It is a gas tank. Id be grateful to you forever if you can help me with these 2 problems!

I just bought a modular home and the electic company turned on the electric today but when I got to the house the electric wasnt working , I flipped every breaker I could find and even had a neighbor come over and try but I got NOTHING . When I called the electric company back they told me it wasnt thier problem and to call a electrician but I dont have the money . Any ideas on how I could fix this or what the problem could be , we are not getting a reading on the meter but I figured its because its not getting power . I doubt it is an electrical problem because the house is only 4 years old and the last owner didnt have any problems ...........
