We had a ceiling fan in our dining room that wasnt even working, and when it did would go off balance so bad that we thought it would fall. We want to switch it with a chandelier. So we just want to know what is the easiest way to switch them and is there any information that we should know before doing so? Please help! Thanks!

since a ceiling fan is much heavier than most chandeliers it is required by code to have a "fan box" this box is more than suitable for a chandelier. you should be able to just take down the fan and install the fixture. the electrical baox and wiring we work the same. good luck turn the power off to the circuit first

This is a very easy switch. Just take down the fan, the exposed wires, hot, neutral, and ground will hook up to your light. hot is black, white is neutral, copper is ground. Even the screw holes to the box in the ceiling will line up with your light. A pretty simple job. Even a caveman could do it.
