I have a very old sewing machine in which I believe to be an antique. Does anyone know where I can find any information? Specifically Brother brand machines. I need a site where I can submit a serial number. Thanks!

Hi, last year I bought an older home. Today, I decided to install a ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms because it gets pretty hot in there.

There was already an old ceiling fan up, but it didn't work.

When I took the ceiling fan down, I noticed there were only 2 wires coming out of the ceiling. A black one and a white one. There was no green "ground" wire.

So, this new ceiling fan I bought has 4 wires to hook up--black, blue, white, and green.

How would I hook these up?

The simpler the answer, the better for me. I don't know much at all about electricity.

Thanks!

I just built a new home that has Oak Cabinets through-out. I decided I do not like them, and want to remove this Light Oak Gel Stain from the Oak Wood, and Re-Stain all of them, to a Lighter Color, or perhaps to use a Pickel Finish.

My Dilemma: The Builder Said, "It Is To Late", that once Oak is stained with anything, the only thing I can do is to paint over them.

If at-all-possible, I do not want to paint my Cabinets, they are just to pretty. If you have a proven technology, please send it on to me.

Thank You,

There is nothing wrong with the laminte, infact we will be able to re-use it once we replace the sub floor, its not expansion, its a LARGE "bump". I hope that its the one about absorbing moister from under house, but it seems so weird that its only happened there. We already had a leak in the bathroom and replaced it with plywood, and we'll be doing the same in the kitchen, and I guess now in the living romm!

I'm trying to build a wooden coat tree for my entry. All I want is a simple design, no carved wood or anything, with some dowels as the actual "hands" or whatever they are called. Maybe 6-8ft tall, with a + for a base. Really simple. I've looked online for plans, but can't seem to find any. And I can't actually do something like this from scratch - I really do need to at least be told what screws/nuts/bolts/plates to buy, so that this thing doesn't fall apart my first time out. Can anyone give me instructions or a link? Thanks.

They gave me a new capacator and it looks different. It has 2 connectors with 3 prongs, the old one had an extra connector with one prong in the back of it. The motor I got has 1 brown/white, 1 brown, 1 black, 1 white. The old motor had a purple wire coming off the right side of capacator, brown coming off the back connector of capacator, and black going to other circuit block......I did diagram this before taking it out, just the new wires have me thrown off a little. Just want to make sure I don't fry the motor.

Thanks!!!

I live in a modern duplex that I rent for $665 per month. Each month I pay approximately 200 for gas, elec, and water combined. I am thinking of renting a house in the country for $495 per month. BUT the water is trucked in and pumped from a cistern at $40 per load. And the main energy source is propane. I'm trying to figure out if I will actually be worse off if I move.

My daughter has had a 1200 sq ft pad poured. She was told to "keep it wet". Due to her needing to leave town for two days, she has asked me to go to her house and use a sprinkler and water it 3 times per day setting the timer for 120 min each time. Is this correct for curing and how many days should this be done? Today is the 2nd day.
