We are redecorating our bathroom. We are on a very limited budget. We can't afford to rip out the old tiles and put in new, so we're wondering if there is something we can do to make them look new and/or different. Such as painting them? That was my idea, but not sure that tiles can be painted? Can they? And if so how? What exact steps do we need to do to paint the tiles? Or any other ideas on making them look better? Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anyone makes their own furniture such as couches/sofas or chairs? What kind of wood is used in making the frames for couches and do you have any links to plans for making them? Thanks for any advice :)

I purchased a 24" direct drive exhaust fan with the typical black, white and ground wiring designed to be connected directly into the circuit. I would like to convert this connection to a 3-prong cord so I can plug it into a nearby wall socket. The fan's specs are: 120V / 60 Hz / 336 W / 2.8 Amps. Could I safely accomplish this by attaching a 12 gauge, 3 conductor grounded SPT-3 cord or another gauge cord like an SJT? I plan on using this fan only as needed during the summer months and won't need it permanently connected throughout the year. I know a enough about electricity to possibly get myself into trouble. Having never attempted something like this, I thought I'd ask for some experienced advice here. Thanks for your reply.

It is normally applied directly to the inside of the glass window. The directions state that it should not be applied to plexiglass. Does anyone know why? I have a skylight that lets in too much sunlight and I would like to block some of the sunlight coming in. Will the film adhere to the plexiglass or damage it?

A neighbor told me that squirrels are rodents that carry the bubonic plague (the Black Death) and that they are dirtier and more aggressive than rats. It makes me view them much differently now. I sometimes notice them looking at me from the tree branches like they're sizing me up for an attack. It's kind of scary. I don't want my kids to be bitten by a squirrel carrying the Black plague. What do you think, are we in danger?

I am sick of the pool. How much of the bottom do I need to bust out so water will not collect? I was planning on renting a jack hammer to tear out the deck and throw all this into the pool. The bottom is gunite, sides are fiberglass.
My buddy has a Bobcat so we can fill in the balance of pool with gravel and dirt.
I will probably plant a few trees and landscape over the filled in area.
I live in Dallas so freezing weather in not a problem.
