My sister has been told by a plumber that you can not fit a bathroom onto existing wall tiles and whole bathroom will need to be retiled. Is this true? Also, how much, ballpark figure here, to fit a bog standard 3 piece bathroom with no pipework needing moved? Just your standard size (approx 6ft by 6ft) bathroom.

My Grandma is kinda broke this year and we are trying to put together some crafty ideas for her to get everyone...nothing that has to do w/ painting, decorating,or really "crafty" things.. I just need some ideas that she can throw together.. like scrapbooks of our family tree, or decorations that she can buy a few cheap things and just throw them together

The garage door will still be opening and closing, it will be a garage again someday. Any alternatives to actually professionally carpeting it, something that will make it homey? soft on the feet? besides those rubber mats?

I want to add color to my dining room by hanging curtains/drapes on the wall, is this a bad idea? My family keeps saying drapes are for windows, not the wall!

I'm moving into a house where the previous tenant had some sort of nautical thing going on in the bedroom. It has dark blue gloss paint, deep, deep blue and very, very shiny! It's just got to go. What's the best way of tackling it?

Armitage Shanks is one, but there should be others. I am interested in a good brand. I know of Fired Earth, but they are expensive.

I am making a bookshelf and can only get my hands on certain types of finished plywood for the sides and back of the bookshelf.
I can get Oak, Birch and Maple. I was leaning toward maple.

The finish I need to match is dark and not completely transparent on cherry wood.

I like the look of laminate flooring but worry that if I have it installed it will be damaged by a hidden dog puddle or a spilled drink that doesn't get taken care of right away. I like ceramic tile also but it may be too expensive for me. What is a resonably priced floor covering that will last a long long time? No carpet please.
