I recently bought a cool mist humidifier. It smells slightly musty and am wondering how to clean it. The back of the box says to use vinegar weekly. Do I fill the entire 2 gallon humidifier and let it run, stinking up my entire house? Do I wipe down the insides? Any other ideas?

Silly question I know but I had to ask! (and don't tell me it smells like crushed silk). I'm talking about the Comfort Pure ad in the UK for a crushed silk and jasmin fragrance fabric softener

We just got new carpeting last year in our family room, and are driveway is flat. It rained really hard three days ago, and the water came into the house and got are carpet soaked! We borrowed a carpet cleaner that sucked up about six buckets of water, but now its dry enough that it isnt sucking anything else up, but the carpet is still wet. It also smells like mildew in our house now. I sprayed Febrez, but the smell keeps coming back. Any ideas on how to get the rest of the water, and the smell out of the carpet?

Well, I have some really nice clothes that I love to wear, but ever since I lost weight, they're about a size too big. Does anyone know how I could shrink them to fit me now?

I boiled over water and milk while cooking noodles. Now it is so cooked on, I've tried different cleaning stuff and letting it soak. Any suggestions?

So, I have these banded fleece pants from Hollister Co., and I bought size Large, thinking they'd fit okay because this other thing I bought was large, but those are different pants, and those fit akwardly too. Usually I wear a size Medium, or Small for pants there. So how can I shrink them? They're just really baggy and make me look fat.

I have been using Spray and Wash. The initial stain is gone, but in its place is usually what looks like a grease spot. How do you deal with this? Pre-treat again and hope for the best? Give up and throw the thing out? lol

I have a new Kenmore HE4t washer and have it sitting on a pedestal on a wooden floor. When the spin cycle starts, LOOK OUT! It shakes, rattles, and could probably roll it if wasn't so heavy. Is there anything you can suggest to better stabilize my washer so it doesn't vibrate and shake so much during its spin cycle?

I was cat-sitting and after the cat left, used a new vacuum to tidy the apartment. The vacuum must've sucked up and heated up some cat litter because now the apartment and the vacuum specifically stink. I sprayed the filter with febreeze and cleaned out the dirt container (no bag in this vacuum), but the smell still stays and gets stronger when the vacuum is on. I'm considering vacuuming up something like baking soda to absorb the odor throughout the vacuum, but thought I'd seek advice first.

I buy Tide detergent (and use the recommended amount) and Snuggle dryer sheets (two per wash load) that are scented to smell clothes line fresh but my clothes never have that fresh scent even right out of the dryer. Could it have to do with my washer and/or dryer? Would liquid fabric softener make my clothes smell fresher? Or is there a better detergent and fabric softener brand to use for that fresh scent?

Something red or pink ran in my washing yesterday. I have some underwear and a couple of tops that are now pink, they were once white. Is there anyway or getting the red/pink dye out or are they ruined? They all have other colours on them so I assume I can't bleach them.
