I have been using Spray and Wash. The initial stain is gone, but in its place is usually what looks like a grease spot. How do you deal with this? Pre-treat again and hope for the best? Give up and throw the thing out? lol

I have used dawn before. Just put it in the spot and let it sit over night. Soak a small load with lots of dawn. Then I have had some stains that just wouldn't come out. Try dawn. That is the only thing I know to do.
Good Luck

The WD stuff could well work, as another answer says; I've never tried it.I had the same problem, and I found an answer online that suggested using that degreaser hand soap (often in an orange container, smells like orange, is a bit gritty, is at Costco). Put a good amount on the stain, rub it in a bit and let it sit for 20-30 minutes, then wash as usual. This worked really well for me, even on old grease stains! It even got off bike grease (went through washer and dryer) on my daughter's pants.

well you can try again before you throw anything away. you can try this if you wish it normally works . take a big tablespoon of baking powder, add a small about of water to the powder, and cover the stain , leave for 1/2 hr ,to begin with, then rinse with cold water, just in case the first try is not a success keep doing this as baking powder loosen the grease
