I have a new Kenmore HE4t washer and have it sitting on a pedestal on a wooden floor. When the spin cycle starts, LOOK OUT! It shakes, rattles, and could probably roll it if wasn't so heavy. Is there anything you can suggest to better stabilize my washer so it doesn't vibrate and shake so much during its spin cycle?

Your washer has leveling legs on it. They need to be adjusted. Also, make sure you wash similar articles of clothing together. Jeans with jeans, shirts with shirts, etc... Rayon with rayon or viscose with chiffon, etc..

If this doesn't work, I suggest you request service. That's why I'm wearing of front loaders, too inconvenient, and not all they're cracked up to be. Top loaders that are made these days incorporate a unified balance system. I've never had problems with a top loader going off balance since they incorporated this technology

I have a college-sized top loader and it does the same thing, the first thing I would do is make sure it is properly balanced:
There exist on many washers four adjustable feet that it stands on, and it needs to sit firmly on all four so you may have to adjust these.

Beyond that the best I have found that works is to load it light, don't put too many things that get really heavy (like sweaters and jeans) in at the same time and do three loads instead of two, so to speak.

Every single time any one of us puts too much in a load, you can hear it go BLAM BLAM BLAM and it sounds like someone is beating the crap out of the house, but load it right (or should I say light) and its quiet as can be.

Good luck, hope that helps.
