Dirt... sweat... these things get dirty, but a washing machine obviously messes them up. What is the standard way to clean a baseball hat?

I spilled liquid wax on my boyfriend's cotton sweatshirt and now it's dried on there. Any ideas on how to get it cleaned? I don't think an ordinary wash in the washer is going to do the trick.

Every time I stick a pair of socks inside the clothes dryer, one sock magically disappears. No matter how hard I try to find the other sock, it is forever lost in what seems to be another dimension within the dryer. Any thoughts on this?

I dried my white clothes not knowing there was a black ink pen in the dryer now all my white clothes have ink spots all over them. What can I use to get the ink out of all the clothes? The clothes are covered in ink so hairspray is not an option. Please help.

Is it ok to wash "dry clean only" materials??? Like maybe once once every 6 months or so... We have tried to dry clean our stuff, but it hasn't worked... We have a really nice comforter (king size) as well as matching throw pillows and pillow cases. They are mostly velvety... and the tags say to dry clean only...

2 pillow cases are..100% polyester

2 are..66%rayon, and 34% polyester on the front and 60% cotton and 40% polyester on the back

the comforter is the exact same as the last 2 pillows and is stuffed with 100% polyester

The throw pillows covers are 55% viscose and 45% polyester on the front and 100% cotton on the back

The pillow on the inside is 100% polyester.

I didn't know if anyone would need to know the materials to make an educated guess, so I put them here anyways....

I have tried a damp cloth to no avail.. What they really need is a good washing but we don't own any other dry clean stuff.. so I am not sure what to do.... Please help!!!!

weird question, i know. my son thought it would make a cool design in the silly puddy if he put it on the remote. well oops, it didnt all come off. he tried using a wet cloth to wipe it off before i found out but that just made it worse. its stuck all over most of the buttons. i tried picking it off but it was no use, i finally gave up. i was able to scratch some of it off now that its dry but most of it still wont come off. we are going to be switching cable companies soon, so when we turn the remote back in im afraid they'll charge us to replace it. any ideas?
