not in most places...you could check with your city/county/state licensing boards to see what they license people for...
I have never seen a licensed housecleaner anywhere I have lived....

what you charge will depend on where you live and if you have a specialty - like envirometally friendly cleaning...check for ads of other housecleaners in your area and start about the mid-range..

I have a cleaning business in palm coast florida.
You need to get an occupational license from the city, and a county license in what ever county's you want to work in.
(licenses are very cheap) less than $100. in florida.

You need to charge the going rate...call a few company's and ask them what they charge.
I usually estimate an hourly rate of $20. per hour.
For offices, or businesses you can charge $35. per hour

Good luck!

yes, you will, to do so legally because part of the license for cleaning homes will require proof of being bonded and insured in case you damage property "on the job" since you'll be in their homes.

every state, county and city will have their own jurisdiction and therefore their own laws, you'll have to check with them for specifics.

As for rates, that's completely subjective based on the services you offer. What i would suggest is calling the local competitors and getting quotes from them and using that as a basis for comparison.

Yes! And a tax identification number. Even if it might be legal to proceed without one, it's better safe than sorry, besides, there are a lot of tax breaks for small business owners!

I think $20-$25 /hour is reasonable, at least where I live (MN), you may need to adjust that
