My wife has done this with ticks before, so I figure the same truthes apply as a home remedy...
sprinkle all over all carpetted areas, work it into the fibers with a broom, let it settle and vacuum up.
I'll be damned if it didn't kill every single seed-tick in the apartment within 24 hours. Pissed me off that it worked because of how impractical it sounded... ;-p

I think Borax is used for the elimination of fleas, not cockroaches. I think you'll need an exterminator for the roaches.

Boric acid, not borax. If you live in an apartment building, yoú'll never be entirely free of them. If you live in Florida, you'll always have palmetto bugs.
If you have them in your house, a permanent fix is necessary as the sight of a single roach is enough to make your house unsaleable. Check out aerosol bug bombs.

Boric acid? Just put it down in corners, back of cabinets, ets. Anywhere they'd go. They'll walk in at take it back to their nest. Works really good!
