Turn up the temp on your hot water heater.

change the thermostat setting and or increase the time the heater is working

if the water thermostat is to low then the system is reeachign its set temperature

if the heater is on for to short a duration then the water will not reach temperature

duration is controlled by a timer (say a CHS programmer or timer on an immersion switch)

thermostats could be on the cylinder, AND or the boiler itself

a thermostat switches off when it reches the required temperature, so you may have a boiler which is switching heat off when the water in the heating circuit reaches the sepcified temperature (which may be insufficnet to raise the water to your temp or the water thermostat), alternatively it could be a thermostat on the hot water cylinder that is switching off the heat at too low a value.

if you have a fault it coudl be that the valve controlling heat tot he cylinder is not fully opening.... if its a "Y" valve (the most common valve type try settign it to manual and see if the water heats up
check the temperature of water going in to the cylinder and see if its similar to the water going into the radiators)

If your boiler is the combination type, only comes on when you turn the tap on, then check your thermostat is turned up, don't turn the hot tap on full, only half way or even a quarter, rate of flow will affect water temp as well as the ambient temp of your cold water.
If you boiler is the traditional type check the water thermostat is turned up.
Or if you have an electric immersion heater it maybe the wrong rating or just you have used all the hot water and you will have to wait for it to reheat.

Turn up the heat dial on your water heater. Just a little at a time. The hotter the water, the costlier it is. Water too hot can really burn you. Be careful!
Good luck,

Turn up thermostat on the boiler.

Check the timeclock - maybe it was heated in the morning and lost its heat.

If desparate for hot water check whether you have an immersion heater in your hot water tank. Switch this on to heat water using electricity while you get your boiler sorted. immersion heater
