I read an article that says new carpets sometimes have bacteria embedded in the backing that cannot be removed, and as a byproduct they produce butyric acid. It smells like a mixture of natural gas and cat urine. The carpet is brand new in my office at work, but I'm pretty sure the school won't fight to have it replaced. Does anyone know what will neutralize butyric acid?

My husband takes ResQ1250 a very large fish oil capsule. He left some in a pocket and I did the laundry. Now the clothes that were with his shirt smell like fish oil. I've washed them 3 times and they still smell. Tried Febreeze but even that doesn't work. Any fishermen,or anyone else, out there who know how to get rid of this odor?

that they weren't really white. They all had an off white tint to them. I have washed them with bleach to no avail. So I am rewashing them with more bleach and oxy clean. Don't know if this will help.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get these towels white like they are supposed to be? And yes, they are supposed to be white.

I'm going to get a Xbox 360 next Saturday and I don't want it to fall to the same fate all my other systems suffer. My Xbox and Playstation 2 can barely work and I think it's the dust's fault. How can I prep my room for the arrival of my Xbox 360?

I work in a warehouse and I use these slip on sneakers at work. They are REALLY starting to stink though and it's a bit embarrassing. They are very comfortable though. What is the best way to clean them so they don't stink any more? And how can I prevent them from smelling after that?

I was doing my laundry and I was using Clorox 2 for colors, but it wasn't foaming like other detergents (Tide, All). I followed the directions and put just as much as it said, but it just wasn't foaming. Is it supposed to foam, or not?

I believe our water is a bit rusty. Which in turns makes our whites a bit dingy, no matter how much bleach I use. Are there an tricks or solutions to use in the everyday wash to make and keep whites white? I have heard of using vinegar or Oxyclean. Have you tried it? Does either work?

I've always rented carpet cleaners and have never hired a professional to do it. What, if any, are the benefits of hiring the professionals, aside from saving time & sweat? Do they really do a better job?

I got a couple of rust stains on a lighter denim jean. My fiance was "nice" and washed clothes the other day, including those jeans. Now that they have been washed and dryed, I need advice on how to go about removing the spots. Thanks in advance!

We left for a week to go on a trip and when we came back the fridge was broken (instead of cooling, it warmed up) so all the food was liquid and had gone bad. We paid a guy 100$ to repair it and now it works. We threw out everything and cleaned it but it still smells like a dead animal. Any ideeas what i can put inside, what products will make the smell go away?

My DD spilled some red soda on our tan carpet. So far I've used Spot Shot, Dual-Action Resolve, Oxy Clean, and Lifter1. It has faded, but is still there. Is there anything else that might work or is the stain set after trying so many products?
