Man are you under stress, huh? Ok - find the CLOSEST closet in every room. Throw everything that is not a decoration in the closet. Dust, vacuum, go to bed and worry about it when they leave.
P.S. -- Don't show them your closets.

You have done a lot. You have vacuumed, swept, and done the laundry and the dusting. You have also cleaned the living room.
There is a site on the Internet called FlyLady.net. On this site, the lady who owns it (FlyLady a.k.a Marta Cilley) teaches that you should work 15 minutes at the time. Marta (FlyLady) also suggests that if you have children and a husband, that you make up a list of chores for them to do and let them be responsible for this list. Don't worry if everything isn't perfect. As FlyLady says, "Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family." By this, she means that if you do your best, that's all that anyone should expect of you. This includes yourself. Nobody is perfect.

Put off mega clean for another day, then start someplace and do not stop until you are happy with results.
In the meantime, you wanna get white vinegar, a boom or vacuum, move things around a little and spot clean. Wash floors liberally with cheap Windex, leaving a scent that implies "clean". Dim all lights, light up candles, and don't forget to swipe TBowl and bathroom an hour before they come.
Play nice music, put out food, and arrange things the way you like it and enjoy your evening!
I had the same problem, but I try and keep
up with the cleaning by making it interesting.
I found out I was tired of buying multiple products, for the same thing. I got off the product habit and use white vinegar. Also, I kind of change things around here regularly to keep the cleaning interesting, and dissed the "mom's voice" inside my head that tells me I need to scrub and scrub and scrub like no tomorrow to keep things nice.
That was good advise for the full time housekeeper, but no so good for the career person.

Well Elowise would say start at the top and work down. I had done this the last week. I took everything out of cabinets and cleaned and dusted them , then I organized the items on the cabinet. I moved all the furnitue and cleaned underneath. The house looks like new. I just wish the field mouse would move out I chased him for a week. Looks like more chasing.

Deep clean the bathroom because everyone visits this area and this says whether you are clean or not. Long as your bed is made and your room straight, the living room is straight and dusted, all dishes washed (kitchen is an important spot too), trash emptied throughout the house, and the house smelling delightful you are ready to roll. But don't forget the snacks for the guests.

Always clean the bathroom first, most people will use it while visting. Hid stuff under the couches and beds if you don't want people to see the mess, thats a great place to hide it. Don't worry about dusting, just vac, that way poeple will think that you did dust. Have fun with your guest and don't worry too much about the house, they come to see you; not the house.

It sounds like you have most done. Make sure you take the trash out. And don't forget to fabreeze the house! Don't worry about the bedroom, it's not like they'll be going in there. I guess the 3 rooms to really worry about are the kitchen, living room and bathroom. Close any doors that you don't want people to look in, like I said the bedroom. You'll be fine!
