that they weren't really white. They all had an off white tint to them. I have washed them with bleach to no avail. So I am rewashing them with more bleach and oxy clean. Don't know if this will help.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get these towels white like they are supposed to be? And yes, they are supposed to be white.

OK, unless I have been living under a rock don't you think I know there are different shades of white? Go away and try to answer a question instead of wasting time.

This may not have been too clear...ALL of the white towels at the store were this off white color. The last time I was there they were the same and I asked why, they said it could be the dye lot...even tho white isn't dyed...they had no clue.

Go to the manager at Penney's and lodge a complaint. It will help if you still have the receipt. Sometimes they will replace defective items to keep good relationships with their customers. It would be worth a try. I have white towels that I bought at Penney's and they are snowy white so they are obviously defective if bleach doesn't help.

Go to a different store for white towels. Personally, I've never come across this but I probably wouldn't have bought them in the first place if they weren't what I really wanted. Sorry. If they weren't white to begin with then chances are that's the color of the dye that they used and you won't be able to change the color no matter how much you wash them.

Live with it or go some where else and buy new ones, because when your done bleaching them and oxy cleaning them, they are going to be dry rotted basically.

There are different shades of white. Go to the paint section at any hardware store if you don't believe me.

I would definitely try exchanging them if they are not the color they are supposed to be, especially if bleach isn't helping.

If bleach doesn't whiten them I don't think anything will. Plus if you keep bleaching them they might get holes in them. Sorry, good luck!
