baking soda in the water is an excellent way to remove odors trapped in the fibers . . . Gain laundry detergent is excellent for doing the same thing . . . if you have access to a clothes line, rewash them and hang them out instead of using the dryer (I am great for leaving clothes in the washer too long and deal with this all the time . . . (any ideas for me about reminding myself they are in the washer???? lol)

To remove stale ordors and mildew add 1/4 cup bleach and 1 cup baking soda and run through a complete cycle; this should take care of the problem, make sure to use the warm/ cold temp .

Chlorine bleach will kill the mildew. Re-wash them with some bleach (shouldn't need too much) and dry them right away.
