Hi. The low pressure light was flashing on my combi boiler this morning. This happened a few months ago and asked my brother to have a look at it. He turned a valve/or somothing similar? under the boiler and increased the pressure. So I did the same thing this morning - but I've increased the pressure too much - over 2.5 bars! I quickly turned the boiler off as the pipes started making noises, but I dont know how to reduce the pressure! I am stuck in the cold and dont really know anything about boilers. Can someone please tell me what to do? Any advice will be much appreciated. Thankyou. Sammy

Is it because the pipe is new? Will the smell go away in a few days?

This plant has fuzzy big leaves and had dark pink trumpet-like flowers. The flowers are gone now, but the leaves still look healthy. But I don't know what it is. Thanks.

I have a knee-length jacket that has 100% polyester lining inside. I wore a polyester sweater one time with the jacket and every time I touch metal I get static electricity. Another time I wore a 93% cotton and 7% polyester sweater with the same jacket and I still get static electricity.

How do I get rid of static electricity? And are there certain fabrics than when they rub together, they create static electricity?

I'm considering getting Static Guard but then I read that it smells bad. I read that Bounce works (though it makes me get static electricity after I touch it...) and so does Downy but my mom's not too keen about using them too much for whatever reason she has.

What is the best method for building a roaring, lasting fire in a freestanding, wood burning stove? Ours seems to die quite quickly, and leaves large hulks of unburned wood smoldering for hours, preventing adding fresh wood. The chimney and flue have been cleaned, so ventilation should not be the issue. There is a damper lever on the front of the unit, but do I leave it wide open? Or partly closed? Any and all help or advice is greatly appreciated!

My stove is making this continuous weird clicking noise. Where is it coming from? I THOUGHT it was a gas leak, but either I nor my family members, are showing symptoms of poison.

I have cockroaches coming from my neighbours', all well fed and glistening. I bought Raid, it had four traps and one thingy, supposedly a birth control. It does not help at all. I saw with my own eyes one running through the "trap", as merry as a whistle, and I saw younger generation as well, so that birth control does not work either. What should I now do?

We rent our apartment and something clogged the toilet and NOTHING is working. I mean NOTHING. We've tried hot water, dish soap, a high-quality plunger and even liquid plumber as a last resort. Will we just have to call our landlord/maintenance guy to have it fixed? Is it their responsibility to get it fixed? Is there anything else we can try?

Articles on cleaning with vinegar say just white distilled vinegar. I've only seen 5% acidity at the store. Are there any other acidity levels?

Hope the question says it all: I have a 12v DC bulb and power and would like to use the bulb in a 120V lamp. I don't want a dc-to-ac transformer/convertor. Just wondering if it is possible to use a stanard lamp, DC bulb as is on DC.

My husband and I rent a home from a property management company. Lately our HOA has sent them complaints about dead grass in our front lawn. Apparently there have been 3 letters and now a final notice of compliance. The thing is they just told us about it and that we are responsible to replace the lawn and to pay the fines even though we didnt know. We also don't feel like the lawn is our responsibility because it has been dead in a few patches for the last 2 years we have lived there. My question is who's responsible for replacing the lawn us or them?

I want to install shelves like the ones sold at Home Depot or Lowe's. The metal part screws into the wall, and supports can be moved around, and the shelves can be adjusted. There are also some that have hardware mounted horizontally near the ceiling, and the support hardware hangs off of that. I've also looked at the Container Store and Storables. Which are the easiest to install and longest lasting?

ok. here what happens. the machine runs through the cycles just fine. water flows in (but fills the bottom of the tub instead of spinning around through the sprayer arms). The heat element works fine. the unit drains beautifully. We had the GE repairman out at a cost of 75 bucks for the service call. after a whopping 9 minutes he said it needed a motor that needs to be ordered. it would be $460 plus $110 labor and he'd be back next week. the printout receipt he gave me of the estimate says the motor and then it says it includes the pump housing. well, the pump makes sense to me because the water isn't spraying anywhere, but the motor makes no sense because you can hear the motor and the the machine doing all the things it normally does.
My question is, is the GE monogram set up in a way that replacing the pump assembly required a new motor? Is he trying to misguide me? Should I cancel the order? Does anyone know? Any help would be VERY appreciated!

I'm completing the sale of my home tomorrow and of course need to take my fridge. it's connected to the water line which we soldered in. so it's not a saddle valve. Is there a small cap I can buy for that line so I can shut it off without having to turn off the water to the entire house?
