I have heard "Bullseye" will work, but need to be sure whatever product I use will not flake off and I will be able to clean the surface paint. That is my problem with the vinyl. It has been there for 30 years and has yellowed. Nothing I have used will clean it.

I ironed a poodle on my black skirt for a 50's day at school and some of the glue remains--it is white. I have tried soaking and scrubbing and I still have some on my skirt.

I have a gravel driveway and now that winter is here, I need to be able to shovel/plow it. We don't have a plow ourselves, and it's a huge driveway and gravel area. We also have well water so I am concerned about putting anything down to melt the snow. What do I do ? Can it be plowed or will that mess up teh gravel?

A friend suggested that I couldn't light candles that were right next to my mirror as the heat would warp or crack the glass. Does anyone know if that's true?

The little compartment where you put the powder has a couple of prongs in it, so I couldn't put a dishwasher tablet in there. Is it ok to just drop it in the dishwasher? I've had the dish-draws for ages but have never been game to try.. silly hey !

A friend of mine just callled me and said that he left a candle burning at work at 5pm. It's a fairly large candle in a glass holder. The glass has a small crack at the bottom. It's been burning for about 14 hours. He is worried that it will burn his building down because of the crack. What are the odds of this happening? THanks!

my mom and I are thinking of going in halves on a set of pine wood bunkbeds with underbed drawers. Here is a pic of item. http://cgi.ebay.com/TWIN-TWIN-PINE-BUNK-BED-2-DRAWERS_W0QQitemZ200180723547QQihZ010QQcategoryZ38188QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemCost with shipping/tax/shipping insurance would be $442. When we were out shopping around locally to avoid shipping, one furniture place said he would price match if I brought in online info, but when I mentioned one online was pine he laughed and said pine was junk he only sold oak. His was $573( even with free delivery).. I know oak is better, but the cost of pine ones are already a huge stretch of our budget to get my grandkids these beds....is pine going to not be safe? The salesman made it sound like pine would just fall apart. So I didn't know if it was his way to try and sell his, or if pine was really shabby product.

I'm in the process of replacing a major kitchen appliance and wondered when most retailers had their best "sale specials." Is before Christmas, after Christmas, or after New Year the best time to buy? This probably would best be answered by someone with experience in the retail appliance business or a purchaser for new homes or rental units.

I have a brand new Amana seer 16 heat pump system. When the heat kicks on the air handler seems to be just circulating air. It doesn't even blow a little warm. The compressor outside does not kick on at all in heat mode and within a minute or so the thermostat flashes AUX HEAT the fan starts moving air faster then the air warms a little. Shouldn't the compressor turn on in heat mode?

I don't know what type of locks are used, nor do I know how to find the model number to look it up. All I know is that it's a green, 22.5"x18"x18" safe with a key and a combination that I found by the dumpster.

I bought a house only five months ago. It's a Victorian stone terrace circa 1900. The house has been recently renovated but I have notice a small crack in the plaster in the kitchen running along the wall right in the corner (where the wall meets the ceiling). Could this just be the result of a bad plastering job or could it be subsidence?

We had a survey and check, etc done only in July 2007 - is there was any history of subsidence or currently any signs of it would the survey pick up on it?

If you want to grow a plant in an area which has no sunlight, you need special, expensive lamps. The bulbs are obviously what make the units so expensive. I am curious to know specifically what makes these bulbs so very different from normal lightbulbs that you would use in a desk lamp, or the overhead light in the living room.

Thanks.
