I have a brand new Amana seer 16 heat pump system. When the heat kicks on the air handler seems to be just circulating air. It doesn't even blow a little warm. The compressor outside does not kick on at all in heat mode and within a minute or so the thermostat flashes AUX HEAT the fan starts moving air faster then the air warms a little. Shouldn't the compressor turn on in heat mode?

Yes, the compressor should run in the heat mode. You should have the installing company fix it. It is probably wired wrong.

I found that sometimes the cycle does not work right so go and check the breaker and turn it off and then turn the breaker back on.
