Grease and frying creates an aerosol that will travel throughout your home and eventualy settle on everything. (My house smells like fried chicken for a week after we fry...)

The best solution is to find a way to vent outdoors while cooking. A range hood that vents outdoors is great, but if you dont have one, purchase a small fan and exhust out through a window.

Burning candles works well to get the smell out, since the vapors from the candles will travel freely.

Might be time for a new roomate, or ask to cook outdoors.

Tell ur roommate to sprinkle some salt in the pan before pouring the oil... it prevents the smell to spread...
The candel thing works too.

You need a filtered air cleaner or exhaust fan.
Or tell the room-mate to change their habits.
