My wife and i are decorating our livinging room. We have an offwhite carpet, tan couches, black hard furniture, and a very dominant rug of reds, rust and oranges. We are planning on painting an accent wall in a rust/red color.

What is a good accent color to use apart from the red/rust. We would like to add some color.

Neither of 2 batteries I have has a label that indicates its type, but a charger I just bought requires that I push a button to make a choice. The old battery has two rectangular caps on top, but I don't think they're supposed to come off, so its probably maintenance-free. The new one has nothing similar to that on its top. How do I know which is the safe setting?

First, I changed the battery in the remote which didn't help. Then, I wondered if I may have bumped the code on the remote and changed it. When I look into the motor, there is now numbered code to match that of the remote. What do I do?

Looks like a cockroach or a giant ant. Maybe entered into the house from an opened electrical outlet. Here are some pictures; it is around 2 inches long.

I would like to put slate (or slate type) tiles up in my kitchen, but are they a nightmare to clean? Would they be very porous and absorb grease etc? I am assuming that the normal kind you would buy from a tile shop are sealed with something, but is that sufficient?

My period was a bit early this month so I accidentally got a small stain on my fave white trousers!!! I made the mistake of washing them with warm water, although I did wash the majority of it out with cold water whilst I waited for the hot water. Now there's a pale stain left and I don't know how to get it out, it's not really noticeble because it's quite small and right underneath so you can't see it from the front or behind. But I still want to get the stain out so please give me some advice!

I have looked around online concerning this, but I was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences to share. Is switching to an electric range generally an involved process? Is it costly? I plan on having a professional do this, but I want to know what I will be getting into financially, time-wise, etc. Any help is appreciated...

Ok so the house me and my husband are renting was flooded 4 monthes back. When replacing the floor he decided to put tile in throughtout the ENTIRE HOUSE. Well four monthes later he has yet to seal it. I mop my floors everyother day and spot clean once a day but even so The grout is sooooo stained (kitchen it the worst though) We have 2 kids and well kids are kids. They spill drinks , food gets dropped on floors, etc. WELL..... I just got a call from the landlord that he is coming tommorrow morning to FINALLY seal the grout. I got to get the worst of the stains up tonight. How can I do it with out scrubbing ever grout line by hand???? I have 2200 square feet of tile to clean really well so scrubbing with a tooth brush isnt gonna work. HELP!!!

There's been a mouse in our house for a couple months, and we can not catch it. It rarely leaves droppings anywhere, but recently we've been seeing it more often. We've put out one of the new De-con no view mouse traps, and a couple snap traps, but after a couple of weeks, we've had no luck. One night we heard both snap traps go off within 5 minutes of eachother, but he wasn't on either of them. I want him OUT! We know he runs out of the bedroom at night, down the hall and into either the other bedroom or into the kitchen. We usually hear him in the kitchen under the stove (that's where the snap traps are). In the past we've successfully caught mice under the sink, behind the refrigerator or under the stove but this one is a little more sneaky. We don't want to use De-Con pellets (though it has worked in the past) because then the mouse will die somewhere in the house, and no one wants to find a dead mouse... HELP!

Most of my garments say to use a warm iron. Does that mean I don't have to use water in the iron? I cannot use water right now, we are having water issues, but I really need to iron some of my clothes. And give me a break, I'm only a teenager and have never really been taught much about clothing care.

I'm a college student with ADD, and my worst problem is my desk. There are lots of papers, binders, and books. I have an expandable file for all of my warranty papers and important documents. I have folders for my school subjects that I keep in my backpack, but a few more folders that I just keep here because I don't need to bring them to class everyday. There are a lot of papers around cluttering my desk. As well as computer stuff, electronic cords, binders, papers from conferences, checks, books, the works. I've bought bins to try to sort things, and more folders. It's all just piling up. I don't feel like I'm using my space as effectively as I should, and I don't have a lot of work space on my desk (I end up doing projects on the floor or on my bed). Any ideas on how you sort things on a desk or keep things from piling up? Even short tips are appreciated :)
