Last time my question was:
"Cold air coming in sliding doors-ideas?
I have a slider in my daughter's bedroom, can't seal it off with plastic for the winter b'c hub needs to get out there to shovel the snow off the balcony. I was going to buy fleece to cover the window, just drape it up over the top slider hardware and let it hang down to the floor, that way hub can open it when needed. Do you think the fleece will be warm enough and might it be too heavy? Anyone know of any warm but lightweight materials I could use?"

So I bought the fleece and made a cute curtain in her 2 fav colors using 15 inch squares sewn together. Now I want to back it with a plastic liner to further cut the draft. (The window is fine, there are no cracks or gaps) Any suggestions on how to attach the plastic to the fleece that won't add too much weight to the whole thing and won't sink thru the fabric and look gross like glue probably would? I can't put the plastic thru my sewing machine. Thanks!

i've got a winter coat from last year that i don't want to stop using, but its fabric has began to sort of 'bubble', and it's starting to look a bit crappy. a new grey scarf i bought recently has made these 'bubbles' look like snow. it looks really rubbish. how do i remove these bubbles? my coat is covered in them, i really want to avoid dishing out for a new coat again :\

any suggestions? thanks

such as pine tree like shrubs and flowers? Ideally, they would be plants that bloom every year, and do not have to be replanted. this would be for a small courtyard, mangaed by my highschools enviormental club, so low maintenance would be nice.

If someone rang your doorbell or knocked on your door, would you honestly be able to welcome them with a smile or shrink in embarrassment because you are such a pig?

hi everybody

we are planning on painting our family room & kitchen. in kitchen we have cinnamon cherry cabinets, brown tiles & brownish back splash. corian counter top has black, brown, grey & white in it but black is the dominant color. we are thinking we may need a light color as everything else is dark. we'll appreciate if you can throw some ideas around. so far we're leaning a little toward light brown in kitchen & family room, dark brown or maroonish on family room niche and on arches that lead to master bed & 2nd bedroom. you can see the pictures at http://community.webshots.com/album/561422598QctESi
i was initially thinking about green as i like brown & green combination. our exterior is green and doors are dark brown. but i'm not sure if green will go with cinnamon cherry. appliances are stainless steel.

appreciate your help

We live in a trailer park and we have had a drought in my state this year. So the deer come out of the surrounding woods and eat my Forsythia leaves from the bushes, etc. In the spring and summer they ate the Day Liliy flowers - they were so nice and orange until they ate them. Grr. They leave behind a trail of their poob in the yard which is supposed to be good for the soil but I worry about them eating my plants. Now it has been raining and I am hoping the deer will eat the new shoots that come up in the woods. I hope deer sleep in the winter. What is there for them to eat in the winter when plants have no leaves? I really don't care but I wonder (no need to answer that). I heard some people actually feed the deer with grain, etc. One lady from Germany told me to put human hair cuttings in the yard and the deer hate the scent of that and stay away. I will try it too. Any ideas please let me know. In the spring I will put a small fence around all my daylilies so I can see thembloom

I had the plumbers in here on Friday to install a cutoff valve in hopes of getting a new refrigerator soon. I just had a "floating" vinyl floor installed 6 months ago. Good Armstrong high quality flooring. When the plumber moved my old peg-legged (no rollers on this baby) refrigerator he tore and "X" 4 inch by 4 inch section of my new flooring. They want to patch it. I say replace it. If it had been 4 or 5 years old I could live with a patch. I saved a long time to get this flooring installed. I paid cash for the materials and installation. What would you do??
