I need to know if, first of all, it is okay to use a cedar chest in a livingroom instead of like a coffee table, or would that look strange? Also, does anybody know where a good place is to buy lower priced trunks or ottomans for like decoration, in place of coffee tables? Thank you so much! I have checked like Crate and Barrel and those kind of stores and they are way more than I want to spend. I like that style of furniture, etc. it is just way more than I ever want to spend or can afford! Thank you!

What type of soil should be used for Zarbara plant?
Does it require any sun light or it should be kept in semi shade?
I have tried red soil and red soil with manure etc but the plant does not grow or does not yield big flowers. Since it is very delicate plant what type of pesticide need to be applied.

I have one of those pressboard furniture pieces (entertainment center) that I bought from Kmart over 15 years ago. It structrually is in great shape, and I dont really see the need to part with it, however, the "wood-like" finish is a bit dark and I was wondering if there is a way to re-do such a piece.

Summer here in Australia, damn hot, really need a air con. BUT no hole in my window, so can't vent the hose out of window (can't cut a hole out either :( ). My bathroom has a door and a vent though, and my room's pretty small.

So, do you thinks its ok for me to vent a portable air con (which will be placed in my living room) by placing the hose in my bathroom, which has a vent to take out the hot air coming out of the hose? Planning to buy a portable air-con, non drainable type.

BTW i used THREE fans in my small room and aluminium foiled my glass window, but because of the afternoon sun, my room is BLAZING HOT. SO i really need an air con >.<

I have 6 very beautiful strawberry plants that i planted last winter and they have given great fruit this summer and continue to bear strawberries even now during fall. I live in Northern California. What should i do to take care of these plants, If i want more strawberries next summer, should i plant new strawberry plants or will the existing ones yield fruits in a similar fashion. Also I am growing these in big window containers, How can i care for these plants so to prepare them for a good harvest next yr. Other than the regular plant food that i give should i cut off all the tendrils- Pls help - i am an amateur gardner and this is my first time.

Im packing my books into cardboard boxes amd taping top and bottom, then storing in a garage for about 6 months. Should I spray insect repellent on the boxes, or line them with plastic? All suggestions gratefully accepted.

There is a series of clicking, multiple sequences, then it finally slows down. My husband cleaned the filter, and it seems to have stopped, but would a dirty filter cause all that clicking noise -- very unfamiliar with gas heating.

There is an obvious discoloration of the tiles once you see the original colour underneath the kitchen mat. Have tried normal mopping with either bleach, vinegar and sugar soap. Its not the grout that is the issue, it is the surface of the tile.
