My fiance and I have lived together for 6 months, along with his mother and brother, before moving into our new aprtment last month (she could support neither herself or her son financially by herself so my fiancee took care of them and they are now live in NC with her brother).

His mother, I'm relizing, must have been doing most of the cleaning, because the place is ALWAYS a mess. We don't have kids, so I'm having a hard time trying to understand why our apartment is so messy all the time (dishes, laundry, trash, and random items strewn about).

We both feel like we clean up after the other one all the time. What are we doing wrong? Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks :)

Hi all,

I need earthworms to live in my house for a extended period of time (4-6 weeks). Is there a way to make them live longer (e.g. a ventelated transparent plastic container with soil?) so they won't die off quickly?

Thanks

I have a one handled Mixet faucet.
here is a picture of it.
http://www.plumbersurplus.com/pdf/02335.pdf
The one I have is the top one.

It is leaking at the handle. Thus I assume it needs to be replaced. But does the handle need to be replaced or do I need to replace the cartridge behind it?

If so can this be done easily?
The handle sticks out about 2-3 inches from the wall and a silver piece goes into the wall.
Someone told me that the wall needs to be taken out.
This true? Thanks for the help
Paul

I would like to cut out wooden letters for my daughter's name to put on her wall instead of paying money for the precut ones. Would I be better off using a scroll saw or a jigsaw? I don't have a workshop so I'm also trying to keep that in mind. I think I will be using wood that is between 1/2 inch and 1 inch in thickness. Thank you

I have a fake palm tree (a really nice one), that use to be in my living room. I replaced it with a bigger fake tree and now I don't know what to do with the palm, so I put it in a corner by my kitchen table. Is that weird? It looks okay, but I've never really seen anyone do that before. Just wondering.

Houses built in the UK have 2 walls filled with insulation and double glazed windows to keep the warmth IN, if the same building methods were applied to a house built in tropical climes of 25-40 deg C with terential monsoons, would it keep the heat OUT? (would insulation work in reverse or is it better to leave it out altogether?).

ALSO, as for the services within UK houses, are they easier to access in an emergency (e.g a burst pipe) because they're housed between the interior and exterior wall? I ask because here in the tropics houses are built using walls with one layer of bricks then cemented/plastered, including any pipes and wiring etc. So when we had a pipe problem in the bathroom we had to remove tiles and chip away at the wall to get to the pipes. They're completely enclosed in concrete! I find it staggeringly impractical and unbelievable that builders would choose this method to build. Obviously it cuts costs. Opinions please...?

I have just moved into a new house (well old house really) and have noticed that the toilet bowl has a very small amount of water in it ... not much to aim at!!! I have tried manually filling it up and flushing it many times but it all ways rests at the same level?? It annoying me no end? Any suggestions? Just a note, this is a very old house and has a few sloping floors - not sure if this could be the problem. Not like the floors are at a sharp angle but there is a gradual tilt in the toilet. Some ideas, help would be much appreciated.

i am sick of wires getting in the way when i'm hoovering, not only do you need to move them, they can sometimes get damaged by the hoover. wouldn't it be so easy having a hoover with no wires, just a docking station to charge it when not in use- like an ipod or a kettle. its long overdue. those wireless robots are inpractical and useless.... only good for big spaces with no furniture- unrealistic and expensive. what we need is a dyson but no wires- so much easier to use, then to dock it to charge- simple...

I am moving to a smaller room, and there will be not enough space for a full bed.
I am looking for good quality, comfyness, and good price, but don't mind paying more if it's worth it.
Please if someone can direct me to online stores, and tell me which one should I decide on buying?

Thanks
