I have treated lumber that has not been dried. Can I stain without sealing?

most interior stains do not have sealer in them. gel stains do have sealer. it is usually recommended to apply a wood conditioner prior to staining. this is not a sealer though.

Most stains only color the wood, not seal it. A sealer is used after staining. Minwax makes a stain now that contains polyurethane for one coat finishes called Polyshades.

yes but it is gonna take more than one coat because as it dries it is gonna suck up that stain something fierce, but you do want a sealant at the end to keep it from rotting and any moisture getting to it
