Any regular surfaces that a person wearing normal shoes (not thick-soled work boots) can walk on, yes. My soles are very tough, I walk on gravel, asphalt and even metal grate (sometimes used for bridges, stairs etc) without trouble. I don't worry about glass either, the soles really do get very tough when you're always barefoot. Just went to the glass bin about an hour ago and left my bike a dozen feet away then walked up to it because I trust my soles more than my tires. I've never cut my feet in ten years of going barefoot. I can do snow as long as I dress up warmly from the ankle up, and I have never tried a bed of coals but I've stomped out an ember fallen from the fireplace quite often without trouble.

But I can't walk across a bed of nails, hot lava, etc; there are limits, at least for me, I'm not one of those Far Eastern guru's who seem to be able to defy laws of nature.

Yes because the bottoms of my Bare Feet are Tough and thickly Callused caused by going completely Barefoot now for over 26 years. I go Barefoot everywhere indoors and outdoors as well, you name it. I have stepped on glass with little discomfort and can take the extreme heat of asphalt in the summertime or the frozen cold ground during winter. The bottoms of my Bare Feet are also stained Black, and I don't even mind going to bed with my Feet Dirty.

Yes, we all can. Some people might not like to, but the foot is meant to be bare and is capable of walking on any surface.
