I currently have old wooden painted doors on my cabinets. I would like to replace them with doors with glass inserts. I would like to do it myself so I can match the look with the rest of the older cabinet doors. (I would also like to save the money from having "custom" doors made.) Can anyone direct me on how to approach this? Thanks.

We need new interior doors. I found that you can purchase them "prehung". What are the benefits to purchasing "prehung" verses just the door panel? What is your preference?

I ran all new plumbing in my home. I used pvc through the whole hose except for the hot water heater. The copper lines looked solid coming through the floor so I sweated a couple of fittings to convert to PVC. A few weeks later I am installing a new bathtub and went to sweat a couple of fittings to fabricate a pipe. I looked at my solder and it says 50/tin 50/lead. Oops! I must have grabbed the wrong solder at the hardware store. This is the same solder I used for my hot water heater. I am looking at hours of work to cut out the fittings on the water heater. Is this a major problem as far as health risks or since it is such a small amount maybe it is OK?

My husband and I bought our home about 1 and a half years ago. In our back yard we have an english walnut tree. I have no idea how to tell when the walnuts are ready. I waited until tehy fell on the ground but they arent any good by them. I just cant seem to get the right timing. They are either not done (soft) or over ready (turning black)! I would really love to enjoy our walnuts and share then with our family this year. Can someone help me??

My wife and I are having a debate on whether a light bill can be between$30-$35 dollars when owning a house. I believe it can if we change the light bulbs to halogen or led bulbs and turn of the lights in rooms that are not occupied.

Its starting to rust around the edges.....how do I get that off, and kept it from rusting more.

(I've had it five years so far, so its done pretty well - but I would hate to replace something unless its really shot)

Thanks a bunch all

my sweetpeas were lovely this summer thanks to some wonderful person on here giving me fantastic advice....
now that it's the end of the season and they've stopped producing flowers they're not looking too healthy.
what do i do with them now?
do i cut them back, or dig them up?
will they return next year? or do i have to plant from seed again?
any advice from those of you who know more from your experience, greatly appreciated.
thanks!

I just moved into a new apartment where there is very large black and white alternation tiles. The walls are basiclly white and the oven, fridge and cabinets are white as well.

I would like to add some color to my kitchen. Anyone know how I can make my own floor decals that won't come up when I wash the floor?

With the help of my boyfriend, I have attempted this weekend to clear out my flat. However, I find that week on week, the amount of paperwork I have, builds up non stop. What does everyone else do with bills, receipts from online purchases, banking stuff, letters from work, guarentees, mortgage payments papers and statements. I find the paperwork is swamping me and I cant believe everyone else has this much junk. Im running out of folders and shelves to store it all in.

Help!

The motor head is spitting out rubbish and pushing out dust. The base canister unit seem to be working properly. I checked and the vacuum dust bag is fine and does not need to be changed yet. I believe the fault is in the extension with the motor head. I've browsed some websites and do not see it offered as an accessory. Do you think it could be replaced? Thanks.
