Anyone know how I can make my own floor decals?

I just moved into a new apartment where there is very large black and white alternation tiles. The walls are basiclly white and the oven, fridge and cabinets are white as well.

I would like to add some color to my kitchen. Anyone know how I can make my own floor decals that won't come up when I wash the floor?

I need something that I can print on from my computer.

go to a hobby store and get some stick on vinyl, [or self sticking] comes in diffrent colors,
