I have two rosebushes that I just love!! But I need some help. What are the best steps to take to winterize them. I live in Michigan so it gets cold and snowy here. Please let me know the BEST way to winterize them so they bloom beautifully next year.

I currently have a carpeted stairway that i want to install treads and risers then stain. My question is do i remove the existing plywood and install the new tread and riser on the skeleton? Also does the tread butt up against the riser or does the riser sit on the tread?

My friend cut a piece of his fig tree off and gave it to me. It is just a couple leaves and is growing great in a bowl with water. When should I transport it into soil?

My neighbor has lived here at this in southern Delaware for twenty years and said he has never seen so many acorns falling from the oak trees. Is anyone else noticing the same unusual amount of acorn production this year with oak trees in their area?

I've noticed that my microwave has developed a strange odor...I've always cleaned it after each use, so it's not any type of food particles. Any suggestions what I can use to get rid of the odor?

He was putting mortar between the veneer rocks on the little wall that makes my flowerbed. Some cement fell onto the grass, then when we rinsed the wall more cement got on the grass. The best was that he rinsed out the bucket he was using right in the middle of the lawn.

Will this kill my grass? I have tried flushing it away with lots of water....

It wasnt tons of cement, but I thought the watery stuff might contain harsh stuff- lime or whatever.

I am looking to get a small wood burner to install into a customised campervan, however most of the ones I have seen so far are too large and kick out way more heat than necessary.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Many thanks,
Martin.

I live in a rented apartment that still has the hideous avocado bathroom suite with matching tiles (white with avocado green lines through it). Two tiles got damaged and I want to replace it before I move out. If I don't the landlord might charge me to get the whole bathroom redone! I can't find any place that still sells them. Any ideas?

My parents gave me a 1920's-1930's bedroom set that belonged to my great grandparents. I have all the pieces, vanity...original seat, etc. The most amazing piece is the bed with a WORKING turbe radio in the headboard. Has anyone ever seen such a thing? I can't keep it in my house, but it seems to be such an oddity, I was thinking of hanging on to it. If it's valuable, I can't simply throw it in the shed. If it's more common than I realized, then I might just sell it off. Anyone seen one or know where I can find out more info? Thanks!

I'm interested in figuring out how the governor works on my self propelled Honda lawnmower. I have a Honda HRX217HXA mower. Is the governor controlled by some sort of vacuum that is generated from the mower itself, or is it a mechanical device that does this. I'm asking this because I seem to be having a problem with my lawn mower idling when the blade is not engaged. I have removed and cleaned the jets with a compressor, but still when the blade is not engaged the idle goes up and then down and repeats this cycle until I engage the blade. If anyone has any ideas or can explain how the governor works I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I have two return vents (I think that's what you call them - they are not where the central air cooling or heating come out of). One is located in the living room and one is between my bedrooms. Cigarette smoke comes in from at least one of these vents (you can smell it sometimes if you happen to be under it).
Would it be safe to seal at least one, or both, of these vents off with the clear plastic used for insulating windows? Would it have an effect on the central air or heating system when I turn it on?

Thanks.
