A few leaves turning yellow and falling off is normal but if there are a lot it can signal one or more of several different types of stress-disease, too much or not enough water (lack of water will usually also cause wilting), cold, lack of fertilizer, root damage, pollution, etc.

Leaves will turn yellow usually if your plants are too wet. They will also turn yellow if it's too dry. If it's too wet, they'll go yellow and fall off. Do the 'finger' test. Stick it in the soil to your middle knuckle. If it's still moist down there, don't water. If it's too dry and they're turning yellow, the leaves will fall off, but turn yellow and brown up before they drop. Good luck. It's really a simple solution and it's all about finding the right balance. We've had a crazy spring/early summer; which has made it difficult for the best of us!
