Check out the definition of a weed. It's anything growing where the land owner doesn't want it to. Pretty flowers or ugly foliage.
Weeds are in the eye of the beholder.

Many herbs are considered weeds. Basically it is something that grows prolifically and is undesirable. That is why dandelion falls into this category.
I grow many plants that are considered weeds. Most of the ones I grow, I use in herbal mixes. Some of the best are chickweed and plaintains. These are excellent for healing sores and bruises, but they can become unsightly on the lawn, that is why they are considered weeds. Both of these are good in salads, as teas, and many other uses.
All I am saying is that many weeds are more beneficial than the lovely and useless plants that we groom. So think about that and look up info on any weed you are thinking of pulling out, it might be just exactly the thing your body needs to heal itself!

Thank goodness, yours is the last question of the day, er, night, er, morning. Ok, I am so with what you are saying. For example. The thistle. I was sooooooo excited when one popped up in MY garden two years ago. I cultivated it! I loved it! Same goes for Fireweed. They are sooooo pretty, I still have one blooming it's silly head off. The tenant up on the fourth floor this year told me a seed managed to float up there and germinate all on it's own. He was so pleased! Yes

I think people recognize that weeds have more use on the planet beside being a distraction in the middle of the flower bed.

I grew up on eating dandelion, poke, doc, and lambs quarter cooked as spinach greens.
With Dandelion wine and jelly.
Nothing any better than elderberry for juice, syrup and jelly and wine. In my state they use to consider it a weed. Not anymore.

Weeds by definition are just plants that are where you don't want them.
Most people consider Dandelions a weed But I grow them as an herb & also think they are quite pretty.
So if you like a particular plant use it as a decoration.

Some weeds are better than cultivated plants. I left some in my flower garden and they bloom and are lovely. (They spread)
