I'm looking for a statue that looks like a little Butler, made of ceramic, holding a little tray. I want to find it preferably in a store, but if I find one online, I would get it if its cheap (less than 100). Does anyone know where to get one?

I don't really have a lot of tools, but could I use those big scissors? Oh and could you tell how to do it? Like what should I avoid?

I've tried most of the major brands, they leave streaks and smudges that show up in sun light or car head light glare. I've tried using newspaper, it seems to help, but I think the wax at car washes is a major problem, you get some of the wax whether you want it or not. Out side windows must get crap from pollutants.

Hubby got a beautiful jade plant for $3. It's in the original 4" plastic nursery container and it's about 2' tall. It needs replanting, but he seems to think there is a special way it has to be done. Does anyone have special knowledge about jade? Thanks.

i'm going to move to a different town in a few weeks and was just wondering if anyone had any tips to make it easier?
we're going to label boxes clearly, as we'll have a lot of helpers (i can't lift much right now, pregnant!) and put labels on the bedroom doors, too.
we have one full weekend, and one half weekend between now & the move. (we also have 3 cats to move!)
any other tips??

replaced them with a Convection Oven, Stove Top only, and a refrigerator that is either drawers built in or a non-traditional fridge that is wider, narrower in it's depth and about 6' tall for easier access and to fit into a spot better? We want to change our kitchen to coordinates like above but need advice before we start.

I have a single fixture in my kitchen with two 4' fluorescent bulbs. There is no starter in the unit, just 2 bulbs and one ballast. Original fluorescent bulbs started to flicker so I bought and installed two new ones. The flickering problem remained. I then bought and installed a new ballast. Here is my problem...When I first turn the fixture on in the morning one bulb is dead and one bulb flickers and is partially lit. If I hit the switch two or more times both bulbs eventually light up. The wierd thing is that if I leave the fixture on for a while, then turn it off and on, both bulbs light simultaneously. The fixture only acts up after it has not been on for a few hours. I have changed the bulbs and the ballast, what else could the problem be?

I'm trying to re-finish 5 chairs that have green paint on them. I really don't want it to take forever and it seems like the way it's going that it might. I got scrapers, but they're plastic and didn't take long to wear away. I've already had the stripping gel on for about 16 hours...help???

Home is 10 years old, was vacant for a year before I bought it.

One shower has cold water only, no hot. The single knob turns on the water, with decent pressure. As you rotate the knob to get more hot water (mixing in hot with the cold), it does not warm up. When you dial it all the way to hot, there is no water flow at all.

It appears that the hot water is not able to get through 'somewhere'. How to diagnose?

1) other showers and adjacent sinks all have warm/hot.
2) second floor bathroom, no easy wall access
3) no apparent leaks currently

Could the hot water to JUST that one fixture have been turned off? Where? (If there was a leak, and this was the former owners way of dealing with it.)

The hardware store guy said it might be the 'stem', and showed me a couple of $15 parts that could be bad.

Is this the kind of repair that a semi-handy person could complete? (I have completed a variety of different home repairs, but would not call myself an expert!)

I bought a fire extinguisher to keep in my kitchen. It does say "kitchen" on the package. Now I read that for wood/paper, etc. fires, you need an ABC. Won't this one also work on those? Why not? I would like one that works on all fires. Do I need to take it back?

My mother and her neighbor have been inundated with pigeons! They've tried chicken wire AND a fake owl. Nothing seems to work! They just move to a different area of the roof and fly back and forth between the houses. Pest control is stating that it will be no less that 450 dollars to get rid of the pigeons. There are between 6-20 pigeons at any given time. Is there any safe way to be rid of them? There are many laws here prohibiting harm to wildlife. We tried calling the fish and game and regional wildlife reserve and we were told that we must have done something to attract them there. My mother and her neighbor have done absolutely nothing to attract these pests! They just showed up and seem to be attracting more and more pigeons! PLEASE help!

alright, i bleached my bath tub today, so i can take a bath, (it was pretty gross) i used soft scrub, and i let it set for 3 minutes, and i turned on the shower and got it all out. i put water in the bath tub to help remove some traces of bleach, now, i want to know how long to leave the water sit before i can drain it, and take a bath.

I dont want to end up with a rash or something because the bleach is still in there, so i need to take all the extra precautions.

I just put in a new shower head about 1 month ago and we recently changed the filter in our basement for our well water. Is it calcium buildup and if so how do I get rid of it? How do I Prevent it in the future?

So, I decided I wanted to change the color of my formal living room to a dark red and gold in honor of the fall season approaching. I went to Home Depot and got the colors that I liked and came home to paint, well...I didn't get enough red so I went back to Home Depot.

The color I got is sold out. Great, right? I bought a color that I THOUGHT would be right and now there is a huge spot of red on my wall that doesn't match and the color I selected is no where to be found. I've already painted half of my living room that color and that room is huge.

What do I do????
