Remove the shower head once a month and soak in vinegar or CLR for an hour or so---scrape out any residue remaining and reinstall. Lime or calcium deposits are something that need periodic cleaning or a better filtration/softening system. Some people rig up a container that you can put on the showerhead in place to soak it in to eliminate the removal. Consult a local water purifying or softening company and also a good plumbing company...you may be getting a good deal of scale buildup in the pipes as well.

You can use a chemical called CLR and it will remove the buildup or you can install a water treatment system but that is an expensive way to go.

Sounds like it is lime (calcium) buildup. Try taking off the head and soaking it in vinegar or pouring in a lime remover like CLR.

yes . calcium, changing the filter may have let some of it enter the line, use CLR, or any lime remover, on the shower head, sounds like you need a whole house filter,

You can soak the shower head in CLR to get rid of that. Besides that there is nothing you can do unless you get soft water.

We found that our house and well had the same problem. You might want to check the aerators in all your faucets as they are probably clogging up too. We had to install a water softener. Huge difference!
