About 3.5 years ago I got my room redone. It was painted by a perfessionnal and cost about 2000$ dollars, I think. My parents told me i could get it redone how ever i wanted and as a girl, I love soccer! So... I chose to get a soccer room when i was a huge tom boy. About 4 years later I love soccer still but, am not a huge tom boy! I am sick of my room and want a girlier room. (just like my mom said i would and i told her it would not happen) What should I do?!?!?!?

~ I don't need you to respond to this negitivly- dont tell me i am a spoiled brat- my parents did it when i was about 8 so... i didnt even demand it. Please write back Positivly or not at all!

I used bleach and water, washed down the whole floor. I moved everything away from walls and bleached there too. We have a furnace in the garage and I've noticed in one corner there is a hole where possibley mice or chipmunks may have burrowed, which would be between the walls. I have literally sniffed in everything, as usually the smell will get stronger when you're nearer to the problem. Then I wonder if an animal has somehow gotten into the furnace and died. (We are in Michigan and it is just the beginning of September, so we haven't used all summer). Help, I don't know what to do next. I don't want to "mask" the odor, I want to get rid of what's causing it. Thanx

Back patio and walkway to front was poured on Friday.

The color of the concrete is a blue-grey white... the original driveway and front paths (installed by builder probably four months old) is a white. Will the new dry to match?

Also, some areas are real dark compared to the areas surrounding it (appears wet as oppoed to dry). How long should I expect to wait for the "wet" areas to dry to match the "dry"?

Last question: There are two areas that devoloped spots very quickly that are much whiter than even the dry areas. They spots also have a rougher texture. Any thoughts?

I recently attached some black corrugated plastic pipe to my downspouts in my backyard and buried them underground so the water goes away from the foundation. Well, the cable guy showed up last week and buried some cable and cut right through the black plastic pipe. About 2 feet of its ruined. How do I patch this up so I dont have to dig up the entire pipe? Any help would be grateful!

So I've decided to build my own wall fountain similar to these...

...
and after a lot of research of how to do it I've got a decent idea for most everything I'll need to do. But I can't decide on the material for the back. I'm trying to cut down costs and I like a solid structure rather than using material like tiles which look ok but I feel a more solid or stone look looks a lot better.

Any type of material you can list that you think may work would be great. Help me think outside the box!!! I'm by no means an expert in the subject so any ideas would be great.

My existing shower is tile but the job was poorly done and i´d like to remove all the existing tile and put new tile. My question is what is the process for removing the tile and how easy is it to retile the shower. The tiles are floor to ceiling. And is it feasable to install the glass tile that are small squares, i love those.

If you do give tip to your painter, how much should you give tip? We have two painters who are painting our house on the outside and they are doing wonderful job. I was wondering what I can show them gratitude beside what they are getting paid for.

I received an early "moon festival" gift from a friend of mine. She's Chinese and her house is totally full of tall lucky bamboo.

Her advice to me was to just keep it in a vase full of water. Isn't there any more to it?

I need to buy a mower for a small yard. I used to have an elecric mower with a cord that I thought was okay, but it was made in the 70s, so I don't really know what's good now. How about those ones that don't use power at all, but just have whirring blades that move when you push it? I'd get one of those if they work well.

I have a 500 gallon pond with koi fish. Bees have discovered it as a water source and have become a problem.

I am not afraid of bees, I know that if you don't bother them, they won't bother you.

My pond is only 5 feet across so I can't just let them have their space. There are 10 bees there at any given time.

It's gotten to the point that I can't get close to the pond during the day without stirring them up. I have to do everything at night with lights on which is a pain.

The bees are coming for the water, the hive is not on my property and I know what direction they are flying to but not where they are going.

Will anything deter them? I can't spray anything because of the pond plants and fish.

I've resorted to catching them with a net and stepping on them but I don't really want to kill them, I just want them to go somewhere else.

I know they won't bother me if they aren't provoked but it is hard to watch my koi fish eat with 10-15 bees buzzing around my head!

I have a pond that is 125 gallons. I started it in early spring and it has been doing well until this month. It has been foaming a lot. When the weather got really hot it started foaming. I have done all I can think of. I tested the PH and it was a little high so I put Ph down in it. I tested it again 24 hours later and it was lower but still foaming. It gets a little greenish brown film on it sometimes that I skim off. I have used water clear and clear zyme in it always following directions. I have replaced and cleaned the filter (no soap was used. I have taken half of the water out and put new in. The fish I have are doing fine. I only have 1 water lily in it and isn't real big. It seems to be doing ok. I have a fountain in it for airation. I have looked in my pond books but they don't give any answers. The place where I buy my pond stuff didn't have a clue. Please respond if you have a pond and know what it could be.
Thanks

Hello! I just germinated a French Lavender (it popped out of the ground a few days ago) in my apartment in Ohio. My first concern is that the second day the plant was out of the ground, I noticed a very small brown spot on its little leaf. I noticed this yesterday, the plant is still going strong, but is this an indictation that I overwatered maybe?

Also, any useful tips on freshly germinated lavender very much appreciated! I want it to grow and live as long as it can. Like I said, I live in an apartment in Ohio and try my best to give it as much sunlight as possible and water seldom. I am also looking for a plant light for those darker days...suggestions would be great!

Thank you everyone!
