I recently attached some black corrugated plastic pipe to my downspouts in my backyard and buried them underground so the water goes away from the foundation. Well, the cable guy showed up last week and buried some cable and cut right through the black plastic pipe. About 2 feet of its ruined. How do I patch this up so I dont have to dig up the entire pipe? Any help would be grateful!

You just need to get two couplings from where you got the pipe - and a little piece of pipe to go between. I hope you had a little pipe left over from the original job.

First thing: Fixing the downspout is easy, you don't have any pressure there and, if it rains that hard, your in more trouble then you think.
I would wrap the pipe and seal it with tub sealer and either put pipe clamps on it or plumbers wire.

Second thing: Call the cable company ask for the regional manager or the public relations manager. Tell him what happen and have pictures to send him. Asses the cost with your time involved and tell him you are going after this amount, they'll probably laugh but, you'll have the satisfaction of the complaint.

First find out what size you have unless you remember, second find out how long of a section of pipe you need, then go to lowes or home depot and get a section that long, your going to have to cut off a prestocked size propably and then look for links to attach the pipe. Basically your going to take a recipricating saw and cut the bad section of pipe measure the distance cut your new pipe put the links in first then the new section of pipe and then seal the seams with a good water repel sealant. Basic cut and dry.

The cable guy needs to return to the scene of the crime & make all necessary repairs, free of charge. Stop him from doing this again to someone else. A lesson needs to be learned here, where he's concerned.

YOU don't have to do anything. Call the cable company and tell them what happened and that you want it repaired. They will send someone out to fix it.
