I have seen two types of screened in porches. Ours is paneled on the bottom and screened on the top. I've also seen ones that are just screen.

You'll need lots of screen (of course). Get more than you need, because it can be tricky to hang it right. I'd suggest the plastic stuff, as it won't crease like aluminum screen, and it also won't unravel. It comes in big rolls. I think they're between $20 and $30.

You will need 4 x 4s for the posts, and some quarter rounds and 1 x 4s to finish off the outside edges. You may also need some sort of paneling. I'd plan for $200 in lumber supplies, just so you aren't unpleasantly surprised.
You'll want to finish the outside with stain or paint. It's a good idea to finish the inside too--ours is stained inside and painted outside. For that, you'd need some kind of primer and paint or stain (of course again!). Paint and primer are around $20 per gallon. I am not sure about the stain (sorry).

Will you have a door to the outside? You can find a good screen door for about $120-$200. I'd suggest a Pella. You can find them cheaper though. We found screen doors for $15-$30 at ReStore, which is the resale shop that is run by Habitat for Humanity.

Consider whether you'll need to build steps down to the yard, sidewalk, or patio.

The good people of Lowe's can be very helpful. No, I don't work there, but we've shopped there a lot. :)

I hope this is helpful.

I had a porch done by an aluminum company with a bottom kick plate years ago based on that and inflation 5 to 6 hundred with the screen door. Best bet get an estimate.

I'm in Florida and lots of places here do the screened in porches. So look in the yellow pages of your phone book and get some estimates.

You need to check with the association before you do anything. Most condos are very controlled and do not allow any changes to the outside of your unit since you only own the interior. Some places wont let you change anything even plants.
