I purchased the tubers, but I am going to be away in October, for 3 weeks, back Nov and they wont be watered etc. If I cant stop them, what is the best way to leave them wtih minimal watering etc.
I had an idea that maybe I cant stop them from sprouting by putting them in the fridge wrapped in newspaper? Any ideas would be appreciated
thanks

I replaced the belt on my Craftsman LT1000 and have a problem. After engaging the cutting blades, they refuse to disengage when I return the lever to the disengaged position. The cable is completely slack in the disengaged position, so I assume that the belt is somehow too tight around the pulleys. The manual gives no clues as to how to alter the belt tension. Does anyone have an answer?

Thanks

Are the plums ripe yet?

How about apples, damsons, pears or blackberries?

I know - weird question, but we go to some abandoned orchards each year to get the fruit. Trouble is, we live 2 hours away so it would be nice to know if the fruit was ready first!

The lamp is from the late 1800s, or possible early 1900s.

I'm going to submit this question again.

Although I appreciate the response I received the first time I asked, I already did what they suggested and was reaching out to the rest of the world here for help in finding it.

When my house was built by Wimpey in 1969, they used an unusual type of stopcock for turning off the mains water inside the house. Although my stopcock is very similar in design to your normal type of stopcock, it just has a slot for a screwdriver at the end rather than a handle. Unfortunately my stopcock has not been turned off for several years and, as a result, it has become jammed and I have found it is impossible to close it with a screwdriver. The ideal solution would be to find a wrench that can really grip on to a round cyclindrical metal surface (about 7mm diameter) without slipping. If I could find such a tool, I could use it as a kind of temporary handle to apply some real force to turn the stopcock off. Does anyone know of a wrench or tool that would be effective for such a job please?
