hello. i am looking for a small to medium sized town somwhere in virginia, to build a new house. but i just cant decide on a town. I really like Roanoke, but like what are some really safe and pretty neighborhoods there?

My kids have moved out and since they have gone, I am a stickler about shutting off the lights, I only shower and wash my hair for about 5 minutes every day. My kids would literally run the water heater out. When I come home the lights are all out like I left them unless one of the kids come home while I am gone....they leave them all on. My son used to turn all the lights on in the house and the garage and I would wake up in the morning for work and they were all still on.
My laundry is minimal. I never dry my clothes in the dryer, and always hang them on the line.
Does it cost to leave the TV running, because I always fall asleep with the TV on?
Is it cheaper to leave the window air on or should I shut it off when I cool the house off?
How else can I cut down? I am worrying about the college tuition I just payed for my son and I am trying to cut way back.

Hi everybody, I would like to know how many gallons of water is needed for one plant of sweet corn to grow from infant to adult. Also, and most important, is that if seeds of a sweet corn say : Ambrosia (se) 74 days H A bi-color hybridization. ----a hybrid seed----, can germinate and become adult and give you a sweet corn also? Going to tile the kitchen floor..at the monent it's got really old vinayl tiles, I'm sure these will remove really easily but if not can I lay ceramic tiles over the top....Also the house has suffered some subsidence over the years and the floor's quite slanted so would ceramic tiles be a good idea or should I stick using a floor covering like lino?

OK, I've heard the Dyson vacuum cleaner is awesome, especially for dog air. I'm wondering which is better between these two: 1)Dyson - Animal HEPA Upright Bagless Vacuum - Titanium/Purple Model: DC17 SKU: 8046161 $549; or 2)

I need a multisurface vacuum that can pick up lots of dog hair, as I have two big dogs that shed a ton! If you don't like these Dyson's feel free to recommend something else. Thanks for your help.

I have a house with a front yard. The front yard is all grass and open. I want to put a metal fence ( bars ) and get rid of the grass and put a nice stamped concrete covering the whole front yard. What should be done first...the concrete with the holes for the fence or the fence first on the grass and then the paving? Which way would be more economical for me ?
