I have a house with a front yard. The front yard is all grass and open. I want to put a metal fence ( bars ) and get rid of the grass and put a nice stamped concrete covering the whole front yard. What should be done first...the concrete with the holes for the fence or the fence first on the grass and then the paving? Which way would be more economical for me ?

You should dig the holes for your fence and cement in the posts. Then lay your concrete slab. When the slab has set enough to work on, finish installing the fence. We do this all the time for fencing around pools. Make sure the concrete company and fence company communicate. This is probably where you will spend the majority of your time. The concrete company will need to come in and put in their forms so the fence company knows where the finished grade will be or else their posts may end up too short (very bad).

I don't know which would be most economical but it might be easier to maneuver if you put the fence up last. This way it won't get in the way.

Speak with a contractor, and see what he recommends, as he is going to do the work.
