Go with different shades of brown and tan....it will look warm and contemporary at the same time.

With black furnishings then you can choose any color you like. If you are having trouble deciding on a color then look at your bedding and choose a color from there. For example if you bedding has many colors in it the choose the color in your bedding that is represented least. Or if you have a solid color of bedding then choose a color that compliments or contrasts.

Examples of compliment:
Varying shades of the same color or colors that are closely related.
Blue and Green
Red and orange
Yellow and orange
Red and purple
Green and yellow

Examples of Contrast: (usually most popular)
Brown and Blue
Red and Green
Red and Gold
Gold and Purple
Orange and Blue
Pink and Green

You should paint your room white and put a red horizontle stripe all the way accross the room. put the red stripe about 4 inches above the center linethen leave a white line then put a black stripe under the white one. the stripes should be 3 inches thick. if you have a black compforter, put your pillows in red pillow cases. have your sheets be red. or use contrast and use a red compforter with black sheets and black pillowcases. paint your doors white and don't stripe them.
