I've had an orchid for about one year now. It was my first orchid and I have managed to keep it alive, but it never rebloomed and just recently it's stem and many of it's full sized leaves have died off. I know now that I should have taken it out of the moss it was packed in and repotted it then, but I was orchid ignorant. Anyhow, I just bought the most beautiful Dendrobium orchid with a green flower and burgandy wine center. I would very much like to keep this one healthy. I've already repotted it with an orchid mixture containing bark, charcoal, and perlite in terra cotta pot. My question is: Exactly how often do you water an Orchid and when do you fertilize it? I've look it all up, but I get conflicting answers.
Also, my poor little sad orchid that I almost killed still has two remaining green leaves but the roots are bad. I trimmed the roots and repotted it in the orchid mix. Do you think it can make a come back? I'd appreciate any feed back.

My husband and I will be away for 2 weeks in September on vacation. We have a couple of potted tomato plants in our apartment's porch. We can't rely on neighbors to come in and water the plants for us nor leave the plants with people we know. Any suggestions on how we can take care of this dilemma?

I'm speaking about the 'main Stem' part.

Is this normal for Philodendron Selloum plants to grow extremely Slow ??

Sheesh !
That's only about 1/4 of an inch per year. LOL

Okay well, I had put wall paper on my wall about .. 6 years
ago? But I put it on really old paint, so that screwed me up.
Now I can't get it off the wall?
Is there any way to make it simple, I tried clothes softener and water, put that made the paint come off some places so now it's not going to be smooth

it's just always acted so strangely. it has a habit of developing bloom buds which turn yellow and die well before opening. now an entire platform branch has wilted and is dying, while the rest of the bush, and all my other roses, thrive. it is outdoors, gets plenty of water and nutrients. is this typical of this variety, or is this specimen defective?

1. What are some common flowers/plants that can grow in water and in soil?

2. What plants/flower species can I clip then place in water so they grow new roots and can be planted again?

Anything else you know about making small water gardens or growing plants in water?

There are 7 people here, mostly children & I cannot seem to keep up with the laundry!!

Any suggestions?

They are 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13. I tried having each that was old enough do their own laundry, but that soon fizzled. They agreed that they wanted to, but then they let it get so FAR behind that they had only the same outfit everyday to wear & then some were putting wet things in there, & ruining everyone else's clothes...how can I get a handle on all of this? It's the same with their chores, they don't do it & if there's a mess, they say, well, I didn't do it!

Any suggestions? It's all I can do to keep a handle on the house!

Thanks!
