I bought a cheap sun shader made out of tarp matierial....it ripped, and now I want to know how to fix it. I can't just go and buy a new one, you know?? SO are there any quick fixes, that will last? I know, a lot of adjectives here....cheap, quick, long lasting...I'll take any combination of at least two of those! JK :) Please help me to solve this rip! :) Thanks!

get a piece of inter tube and superglue it along the rip. Get locktite glue and excelurator it drys the glue faster. I fixed my waterbed 2 years ago without a patch and it's still holding

Tents might get 8 or 10 degrees F warmer than the outside temp while you are in it if no strong wind is blowing if you don't have a too big tent. If you use a tarp in winter the main thing to do is position it so the wind blows away from the opening. As in the other answers do not try to insulate it. Be sure the edges the wind hits are on the ground good, maybe even weight the edges down with sticks, stones, snow, dirt, whatever you find. I camp in the winter. I have a small 2-man tent. If you are on a hike and setting it up only for sleeping a tarp can serve you. If you are staying in one place a few days a small tent is much better.

Duc Tape is the least expensive quick fix.

Joanne fabric sells an iron-on glue that you can press onto a tough piece of material, then iron onto your tarp.

Sewing the material is the best solution for a fix, other than replacement.
