What I mean is, I would like to keep my house, which is prone to dampness, as dry as possible. I live in a city that's near the beach but is also a desert. We get little rain, but the foliage and ground become very moist at night.

I would like to either
1. cover the ground surrounding the house with cement or tiles or gravel or chips or???? (I fear this will only keep the soil more damp from underneath up, as the sun won't be able to get to that soil.)
or 2. buy succulents that take dampness out of the ground and plant them around the house, if that thinking is even correct--in other words, I'd like greenery, but nothing I'd have to water.
or 3. I'm open to any better ideas.

I am speaking of about two feet of ground, out from the house walls to the yard, and surrounding the entire house.
Any ideas?

I have looked for them everywhere--they are the least expensive and most effective thing to get rid of flies. You know, the old fashioned kind that farmers hang in their barn.

I just ordered this weed eater from Sears for $189. I wanted a 4 cycle engine (no mixing oil) and this was the best they had. Also bought their extended warranty. Anyone own this tool? Looking for a "user" opinion, and can't really find one. Must be new on the market? Thanks.

I've got a big massive bath, which takes about twenty minutes to fill with lovely hot water. I probably have a bath every day, cause I like it, and as a result my gas bill in astranomical. My boyfriend rekons I should just have a shower but I'm selfish like that. I was just wondering if any of you clever types out there could figure out how much on average powergen like to charge me for these indulgent bathtimes, Thanks!

I live in Vermont, and have found a bunch of sale bulbs. They were dirt cheap, and gorgeous. What happens if I plant the bulbs today? I don't know how long they take to flower, but if they didn't flower this year (I'm sure they wouldn't, there is't too much of summer left) would they come up next year? I bought dalias, crocosmia, several types of lilies, and iris'.

It has been a yellowish-dead looking color for a very long time. What are the steps and how can I recover or restore my grass to a dark green color? Is there a particular time to water the grass and or is there a special solution? Thanks.

Very recently our washer started making a horrible screeching noise when it is filling with hot water. This noise is heard all throughout the house, so we can't wash clothes late at night when others are sleeping. My company also had an institutional coffee maker that made the same noise when it was preparing to brew. The coffee maker was replaced and the new one is silent. What causes this and how can I fix it?

my mother loves this flower bouquet she bought at the grocery store a week ago,
she liked it so much that she got another bouquet today.
she doesn't know what the name of the flower is, however.
they come in different shades of purple and they're in clusters,
somewhat like a hollyhock or a snap dragon,
and they are very fragrant.
i tried to find a picture of the flower of the internet but couldn't find any.
if you understand what flower i'm talking about,
please help♥
