I recently planted 2 Bee Balm plants in my yard and they've been growing beautifully but I noticed this morning the leaves are turning white and look like they are starting to shrivel up. I don't see any pests and I water every day. Help!

I read a similar question someone else posted and i've tried some of the things people suggested for removing the odors but it doesn't work. I've tried grinding lemons down the garbage disposal and putting baking soda down the drain. It doesn't smell just walking by the sink but whenever I wash dishes and then let the water drain out of the basin when I'm done, it smells horrible for a few seconds. The lemon only temporarily disguises the smell and I don't think the baking soda helped. I want to actually get rid of the smell completely- not disguise it. Any suggestions?

My A/C unit outside continues running even though the air handler inside shuts off, thus freezing the pipes and potentially causing serious damage. When the thermostat is switched from automatic to manual the inside fan comes back on. Does this seem like a thermostat problem or a/c problem? The thermostat was replaced 3.5 years ago and is a mercury style.

Fastened to a wall, with the shelf on bottom of support brace instead of on top. Seems like the brace would be pulling "out" at the top & pushing "in" at the bottom at either position & be just as strong & support the same amount of weight. Or am I wrong?

It needs to be powerful enough for a house of 6 kids, dogs and a cat. Also very important, is that the belt be easy to replace. I have a miele vac. but the belt is so impossible to replace, I just want to get rid of it!!

I want to utilize existing power of stream if possible. Maybe a wind turbine is also a possibility. I'm in the middle of lots of trees so solar power is probably only available in winter.

I live in the desert and use a swamp cooler, but lately the house is just getting too humid to be comfortable. Would it help to run a dehumidifier to eliminate some of the extra humidity being created by the cooler? Right now the inside temp is 80 degrees and the humidity is 48%.

When I push the green test button on top it pops back up, like it should if it is good, but I am afraid to trust it after 17 or 18 years.

I turned on the dryer for a minute without any clothes, and there was a slight smell. I just want to know that the dryer isn't going to blow up next time I use it.

so i have light purple walls... violet i guess. and i have light wood floors. i recently bought new furniture. i got an off white headboard and foot board and an off white nightstand and and off white bookcase

here is a picture of what the headboard and nightstand KIND OF look like: http://www.thefurniture.com/store/Images/Lea/368/368-936-SET.jpg

so i need a new comforter and area rug but i don't know what color. a white comforter would look bad because of the off white headboard. so should i get purple to match the walls or is that too much purple? and then should i get a purple area rug? because white would clash... but if i get all purple it would just be way too much purple. ahh help!

Currently, I live in a house that has a flat tar & gravel roof, which is laid directly over the tongue & groove cedar that is also the ceiling. Just before we moved in three years ago, the landlord had the roof re-done.

Every year that we have lived here, the roof has leaked when it rains.

I have been trying to convince the landlord that he should add on a vaulted roof, but I understand that this will be more expensive than just adding more tar & gravel, except for the fact that he wouldn't have to re-do it every year.

My husband and I started talking this weekend, and realized that foam is another potential option.

Does anyone know what the relative costs are for all of these roofing options per square foot? I realize that it may differ in my area, but if you know the cost of each within your own geography, could you please share? I'd like to make a proposal to the landlord that has facts to back it up.

My BF thinks I'm crazy- when we drive by a house, I always look to see its "face". Dormers become eyebrows, windows are eyes, doors and porches can be mouths, muzzles, teeth, etc. Does anyone else out there also see faces???

I am looking for a sofa for the living room. The carpet is offwhite in color and the walls are also light colored. I have light brown window treatments. What color would look nice? Is maintaining a light colored couch quite difficult? We are expecting our first kid end of this year, but we have a separate family room. Thanks for your help.

I want to redo my room. I'm thinking either a light blue and white. Not boyish but feminine and peaceful. But I sort of want a bright and preppy room with pinks. I still haven't decided and when I do I'm afraid I'm going to make the wrong choice. I already know everything I want to do for the blue room, but I have no idea for the pink. I don't want to paint every wall hot pink because I'm afraid that would be going overboard. I was thinking maybe pink, white, and another color stripes. What is your opinion? I'll take any great ideas and websites!

I have a 2" concrete patio slab. I am thinking about building a patio cover. Can I set the the patio posts on the concrete or should I dig a foundation (How deep should it be).
I need to know the formula of how wide and deep should the rafters be in regards to the distance between posts. For example, if two posts are 12' a part, how deep and wide should the rafter be.

I could use some good blue prints if anyone has any.

Thanks
Sammy
