Woodland fairies - you could have a tree mural and the ceiling could be a night sky. Fairies can be painted on or hidden throughout the room in all kinds of cute little hiding places like under a lampshade or in the shade of a flower arrangement. Colors should be lavender and sky blue.

Well, what kind of things does the girly girl like? I'd use one of those things as the theme. You don't want a theme chosen by someone else!

I always thought a princess theme was cute. Decorate with tiaras, and lots of pink. She will also need a place to dress up like a princess with outfits, shoes, handbags, and a pink feather boa.
This is really where your imagination comes in. Think of anything that is fairy tale related. Think of an enchanted castle where the princess resides. And it doesn't necessarily have to be about fairy tales. Your little girl is a princess in your eyes and you can create the room according to how you see her.

Stay with "Girly" colors.....Pastels, in pinks, yellows, lavender etc. NO high gloss paints or shiny surfaces. Extra length, ruffles or "poofy" , keep colors flowing rather than contrasting. Stay away from vertical and horizontal lines such as blinds. Go with 40 watt bulbs rather than 60, 75 or 100 or better yet incadesent lighting. Something as simple as a white dressing table with mirror and rounded edges......Feminine things.

1] fashion. Get prints or posters of fashion shows, etc., to frame; and use the best colors for walls, bedding, rug, pillows, accessories.
2] makeup. Prints or posters, your makeup colors for walls etc. - pink, rose, and plum, or peach, bronze, and rust. Make posterboard replicas of your favorites in their traditional design and colors [ fav. lipstick, perfume, mascara, blush, etc. ] You could use the colors of your favorite brand to decorate too.
3] hair. Get really old or vintage hair designs, the more outrageous the better! Frame and use colors from the pix -
Blonde, auburn, brown, or black [ hair ]; ivory, pink, tan, or chocolate brown [ skin ]; and blue, green, hazel,or brown [ eyes ]; or use your hair, eye, and complexion shades instead!
Collect some antique hair accessories - old curling irons, hair combs, a hair receiver [ look it up ], etc.

We did a garden with flowers, butterfly's and bumble bee's all over the walls, and then the glowing stars on the ceiling. My daughter is 8 and loves it!
