Go with the light brown. At first the off-white wouldn't be so bad, but babies turn into toddlers, and toddlers are messy. I opted for an off-white couch when my daughter was still an itty-bitty baby, so I've learned the hard way. Many times I've had to scrub off ink, cheetos cheese, juice drips, dirt... the list goes on for miles. The off-white shows every little thing.
UNLESS... if you're getting leather, everything wipes off fairly easy, so it won't matter.
Good luck with the baby!!!

I think light brown for the sofa is good because it matches with the window treatment and it is consistent with the whole theme of the living room.
It doesn't matter whether maintenance of a light colored couch is difficult or not because living room is for receiving guests, not to spend much time with the kids.
That's my answer. Hope you like it.

1] pick a color or colors you both like, so you both will be pleased. Or use your favorite for sofa, and his for accessories; or vice versa.
[ pillows, rug, lamps, etc. ]
2] add one or two chairs in the same color or print, or a coordinating one.
examples:
green sofa with green chairs
green sofa with green leaf print chairs
green print sofa with green print chairs
green print sofa with green chairs
3] if you make sure your sofa is treated with fabric protection, and don't let kids walk around the house with food or drinks,
a light sofa will be fine.
4] add some pillows in peach and same green print; a rug in green, light brown, and peach; and lamps in green with peach shades.
5] add some artwork [ painting, photos, wall hangings, swags, etc. ] in the green, peach, and light brown colors. Make sure all frames are of same general style [ oak or walnut, brass or silver, etc., so you can switch them around ].
6] add a planted plant, vase, candles inthe room's colors.
P.S. - I just used green and peach as an example - pick your two colors, and you will probably find shades that look good together.
P.P.S. off white or light brown would work, but look very blah; unless you add a lot of colors in all the other items.

Too much tan, white and brown. Try something different. Maybe a red couch. Or if it's what you prefer...brown leather is your best option...especially if you have a child on the way. Every person I know that has kids prefers leather, it's soooo much easier to clean.

based on the colors you said you already have, i would reccomend a chocolate brown ultrasued couch. The brown would go with both colors you already have, and the ultra-sued will be resistant to the new addition to your family. And then you can use accent pillows for additional color.

Congrats on the new addition to your family!
If I were you, I'd go with the brown....it's a neutral color and it will be easier to clean than an offwhite.

i love to do decor so this is my honest opinion. i might pass with easy beige or an off white curtains. this might accessory your front room and convey out your different decor and accents interior the room. you would be able to desire to then upload a swag proper above your curtains to compliment your partitions and convey elegance into the room. you would be chuffed which you desperate on the lighter curtains interior the tip. good success!

brown would look best because it would match the window. and you would be less likely to get the couch dirty if it is dark. also, too much off white gets repetitive. I would choose brown :)

um, id reccomend the brown. with young kids keeping anything clean is very difficult, and they tend to spill their sippy cups filled with grape juice.
