I planted a wisteria bush about 3 years ago and it has never bloomed. I asked someone at a landscape place and they said I needed to fertilize it and cut all the new growth off. Well I did that and it still shows no signs of blooming. I really don't even know what time of the year to expect it to bloom. I am in zone six

This is a 2 year old Sears air conditioner plugged into a 220 outet. We turn it off at night and it is running every morning! It's not on a timer - we checked that. What could it be? Some surge in the electric line maybe/

I had some water coming into my basement a few years back, so I had a sump pump installed. It is a submersible pump, so there is always a bit of standing water that stays in the bottom of the crock (18" across, 18" deep). Over time I get quite a bit of larvae and what appear to be medium-size black flies that build up in the room where the pump is located. I can go through the room every few months with a can of "flying insect" pesticide spray, which seems to help, but would like to implement a more comprehensive solution, if possible. I talked to some local hardware store employees, who only suggested covering the hole of the crock with screening to keep the bugs in the crock. Is there no way to treat the standing water with something that would prevent the larvae from forming? Thanks!

I'm patching a hole in my bycicle innertube using Something called "pliobond" (I'm pretty sure that is the same as rubber cement) and rubber from a diffrent innertube. Is that okay? or is it the wrong glue and the rubber is too thick?

Any advice on how to do it?

Everything in the old and new ballasts (for 2 40w fluorescent lights) lines up except the diagram for the new one shows the 2 blue wires above the 2 red ones. On the old one, the red ones are above the blue ones. Is that okay?

I purchased a Maytag Performa dryer in August 2006. Within three months it stopped tumbling. The repairman came and fixed it, saying the belt had snappe. Two months later it completely stopped working. The repairmantold me immediately there was nothing he could do b/c I had it plugged in to an outlet that was only getting 110 volts. I asked why it had worked for a while and he said it was "pulling" electricity from my other appliances -- sounded feasible b/c my fridge had not run well since moving there ... perhaps the dryer was "stealing" some of its power. But now my landlord says certain it's a 220 volt outlet and no one else had problems using a dryer at that outlet. He suggests they're trying to get out of covering it under the warranty (which expires next month). I'm so confused. Help!

We are getting ready to move into my mom's house. While she lived there, she had a small dog that had a big bladder and he peed on the carpet up stairs alot, and on the carpet going up the stairs. We pulled out the carpet and padding, but the hardwood underneath STILL smells of urine. What can I do to get the awful smell out? It didn't stain the floors underneath, but it still smells very strong.

The DC Examiner insists on delivering their free newspaper daily to my house and despite 4 calls to stop delivery, they continue. Any suggestions on a regulatory agency I could contact? It doesn't seem right that a company can throw something unwanted on your lawn on a daily basis. They also throw 3-4 copies at the start of a pipestem that just sit and rot.

There is a stain right at the water line in my toilet. I'm not sure if it is a hard water stain or what. I have tried just about every toilet bowl cleaner on the market with no success. I have even tried straight bleach. Are there any other cleaners or home remedies that I should try.

I know it will take until I am at least 100 yrs old to get tall enough to shade anything. Thats mostly the reason I bought it. I just wanted to leave something good behind me after I leave this earth. I love my yard and my home and want to share my enjoyment of nature with someone in the future.
Now back to the tree..... How big should the hole be I plant it in and how often do I water it? Its about 10 feet tall and in a 3 gallon pot.

It's called the "Paris slum apartment".
Now here's where I need your help: what do I put in it to give it some old Parisian charm? The building is technically an antique, it's 100 years old. There are some thin exposed pipes running along one side of the bedroom wall. The light fixtures used to have gas running through them. The radiators are beautifully ornate. The ceilings are very high. Hardwood floors.
