The DC Examiner insists on delivering their free newspaper daily to my house and despite 4 calls to stop delivery, they continue. Any suggestions on a regulatory agency I could contact? It doesn't seem right that a company can throw something unwanted on your lawn on a daily basis. They also throw 3-4 copies at the start of a pipestem that just sit and rot.

You make an excellent point. Next time you call them, send them a registered letter asking them to quit for good or you will take them to court.

Wait a few days for them to pile up. Go outside and wait for the delivery vehicle and record the license number. Call the police and request an officer to respond to your home for a complaint of illegal dumping. Show the officer the newspapers on your property you do not wish to be there and request that they either arrest the delivery man or contact the newspaper to refrain from further littering your property with unwanted trash. Can't lose!

I would write a letter to the most reputable news source in your area and outline what is going on from the point of view of someone concerned with the environment and the gross waist of resources that this is! The outrage in the comunity may shame them into action!!!

Call your local District Attorney and tell him the story. Ask that future deliveries be considered littering.

You should talk to the newspaper guy, call the department and tell them to stop, or send a letter!
