I put slate in a bathroom and it has raised the floor a good 3/4 inches. The toilet now leaks. I had a plumber come out and he told me the flange is not high enough an now he will have to cut a hole in the ceiling below the bathroom to cut the flange out and put a new longer one in. Does this sound right?

We have a few bare spots in our lawn due to equipment being operated and tore up the lawn somewhat. In another area, we have a red maple under which grass won't grow. Are there any tips for growing grass in these areas? The areas are not very big and too small for sodding I think.

My grandma wants to put flowers on and aroud her patio, but there is a problem with chipmunks. They sit in the flower boxes, and munch on whatever flowers or plants she has out there.Does anybody know of any plants or flowers that they won't eat?
If somebody knows of something she can do to keep them away, that would be great too.She doesn't want to hurt them, she just wants them to not eat her flowers.

I need a cheap laminate sheet to use as a backing sheet for some MDF. Basically, I'm going to be cutting a sheet of MDF into strips and then glueing the strips on to a backing sheet with the cut sides facing up. I'm wondering what material would be best to use and I'm currently considering a laminate might be ideal. Does anyone know of any laminate sheet that would be suitable. Ideally it should be no more than 1mm thickness and must be easy to router cut.

Occasionally I get this red film on my shower head, sink sprayer and today I found it on the pump for my dogs water fountain. I don't find it in the bathtub, or sink or anywhere else like that. Just places where the water runs out. It seems to pop up overnight. It wipes right off, I'm just curious of what is is and if its harmful?

I'm planning to use container gardening to grow tomatoes this summer. Do they have to be outside at a certain point to be pollinated? Or can I keep them inside in a sunny spot and have them grow fine?

We all know it... The harder the better. Yet the neighbours might not appreciate contact sounds, and besides that - squeeking beds distract like nothing other while getting it on.
Please help!
